Workshop Goal: To increase participants' effectiveness by:
- Providing practical strategies for career- movement challenges specific to certain positions, or groups of people as a result of the organization's context.
- Enhancing business strategy by aligning career development goals with overall business productivity priorities.
- Exploring theory-based frameworks and tools/best practices for career planning
- Increasing focus on retention and possible recruitment avenues by providing career development support to participants.
- Learning and practicing career networking strategies.
Description: A four-hour workshop for participants seeking to strengthen their own career development. An interactive workshop, this offering is designed to enhance participants' capacity to set appropriate career goals, apply strategies to align their work and development with the growth of the business, and seek out relevant feedback necessary to continue to develop professionally. Workshop content includes theory and practice, learning to give feedback effectively, "managing up" well for the good of the overall organization, and dealing with specific areas of adversity. This workshop can be customized for any organization and there is a customized version specifically addressing career development strategies for women in the high tech industry.
