Diversity sustains the life of an organization. Successful organizations maintain positive and strong energy among employees. That requires paying attention to what gives meaning to the people of an organization, what values are alive within that organization. In a multi-cultural organization with a multi-cultural customer base the business of "diversity" takes on even more importance.

In organizations, people turn to each other to develop values, to produce results, and achieve their collective organizational vision. On our planet "biological diversity" - or biodiversity - is the term given to the variety of life on Earth and the natural patterns it forms. The planetary biodiversity forms the web of life of which we are an integral part and upon which we so fully depend. The same is true in organizations. Leaders in organizations are learning that each department and each business group is like a separate "ecosystem," where human beings form a community, interact with one another and with the environment around them. The combination of humans, their connections with each other, and their interactions with the business environment and customers makes each organization sustainable or on a path to extinction. Positive diversity sustains the life of an organization.
